HOW TRACY WORKS

Restoring vitality to the places that need the most attention

In Japanese pottery repair, a crack isn’t hidden. It becomes part of the whole and part of its history.

Tracy approaches treatment with a similar respect for what is already there. Her work addresses the immediate problem while also looking at the patterns that have developed over time. Acupuncture, moxibustion, and herbal medicine are selected and adjusted according to what the person in front of her needs now.

HOW TRACY TREATS

Two Disciplines, Twenty Years of Practice

Treatment starts with two disciplines, acupuncture and moxibustion, and classical herbal medicine. Nutrition, diet, and movement may be included in a treatment, coordinated with your other providers.

Japanese Acupuncture & Moxibustion

鍼灸

Shinkyu

A precise style of acupuncture that typically uses shallower and even surface needle techniques compared to other styles of acupuncture. Moxibustion — gentle heat applied near or on the skin — is often added to support circulation and increase vitality. These styles are well suited to all patients but especially those sensitive to needles or new to acupuncture. Tracy adjusts toward a stronger technique when the case calls for it — athletes and patients recovering from injury, for example.

Classical Chinese Herbal Medicine

經方

Jing Fang

Herbal formulas drawn from the oldest herbal texts in Chinese Medicine and matched to your specific presentation or pattern (Zheng), utilizing abdominal palpation diagnosis (fukushin) and pulse diagnosis in addition to a detailed analysis of the symptoms you experience.

Often prescribed alongside acupuncture treatments to extend its effect between visits.

WHO TRACY TREATS

You're Not a Diagnosis to Manage

For over twenty years, Tracy has worked with people across a broad range of complex health conditions. You're not a checklist to work through, or a diagnosis to manage. Before she decides where to start, she looks at your history, your patterns, and what's already been tried, then builds the approach around what's actually in front of her, not a standard protocol.

Japanese acupuncture focuses on first identifying and treating the Root - or overall pattern that is causing the symptoms you are experiencing. Then the treatment focuses directly on the Branch - the symptoms. Tracy utilizes a broad array of interventions such as moxa, cupping, guasha and gentle bodywork (Sotai) to address these.

The technique changes according to the person and what she is treating.

What Patients Say About Tracy

You won’t find a better acupuncturist.

As someone who “hates needles,” I have ironically relied on Tracy as a PCP for the last four years. She’s helped me with health issues ranging from tachycardia to irregular periods, and muscle/joint pain to eczema. She is very knowledgeable, compassionate, and has provided excellent referrals as necessary.

Tracy is very knowledgeable and professional. Her approach is very gentle and effective. She supported my physical and emotional well-being through pregnancy and postpartum… From infancy, Tracy has supported my children with colic, GI difficulties, mood/behavior, and overall health.

I am so impressed with your knowledge of the human organism.

What I am most thankful for… your therapeutic treatments were significant in getting me ready for bilateral knee replacement and in aiding recovery from painful residuals of surgery in conjunction with PT.
